This is a bridge over the Besós River, intended to connect an outskirt, rather marginal Barcelona district and to improve its integration within the metropolitan area of the city. Therefore, the bridge includes pedestrian walks 6 meter wide, conceived not only to pass through but also to walk and relax, looking at the Landscape. With a main span reaching 76 meters, an overall width of 36 meters and only one line of steel pylons at the center of the deck, the transverse bending was more difficult to solve than the longitudinal efforts.
Thus, the deck has been composed of a central box section flanked by two pyramidal hollow bodies prolonged outwards by two beam-and-slabs, lateral bands for the pedestrian walks. Each 7.2 m in the longitudinal direction, a transverse beam is located, allowing the anchor of a pair of parallel stays, which support the entire self-weight, superstructure load and part of the live load corresponding to such an anchorage
