Halo is an elevated double curved walkway which a part of the “Vigo Vertical” plan whose ultimate objective is to facilitate transverse permeability between García Barbón and Urzáiz streets.
This walkway is understood as an elevated street that gives access to the Intermodal Station square from Serafín Avendaño street. To face the existing elevation difference, a tower is designed to house the elevators and as a landmark in the urban web of Vigo. Having reached the height of the square, the tower opens its shape in an embrace gesture, offering a double itinerary to pedestrians and releasing the panoramic view from the atrium of the intermodal station.
The project developed in collaboration with the architecture studios AM2 and NOARQ was the winner of the competition organized by the city council of Vigo.
